Kevin Nelson, Chairman of the Board
Kevin is the CEO/President of Northstar Financial Group, located in Bad Axe, Michigan. He also serves on the board of Northstar Bank, and Mainstreet Community Bank in Florida. Kevin joined the Board when the Bank was purchased by the current ownership group in February 2011.
Philip Koning, President/CEO of West Michigan Community Bank
Phil joined the Bank and the Board in May 2011. He lives in Holland and has been involved in numerous community organizations. Phil has 40 years of experience at all levels of bank management.
Lynette Drake, Director of Northstar Financial Group, Inc.
Lynette represents the ownership of the Bank and joined the Board in February 2011. She also serves as a director of Northstar Financial Group, Inc. and its subsidiaries: Northstar Bank, Valley Financial, Inc and is also a director for Mainstreet Community Bank of Florida. She is president and chairman of the board for Gemini Group, Inc. in Bad Axe, MI. Lynette lives in Ubly, MI with her husband and children and is active in the school and community.
Jim lives in Hudsonville, is very active in the community and has served on the WMCB Board since 1996.
Kevin Clark, SVP of Investments of Clark Wealth Advisors of Raymond James & Associates in Holland
Clark Wealth Advisors of Raymond James & Associates is located in Holland, Michigan. He has been a past president of the Holland/Zeeland United Way, and served 16 years on the Holland Public Schools Board of Education. Kevin joined the WMCB Board in March 2011.
Douglas F. Oberst, Owner of Heartland Agricultural Services, LLC
Formed in 1998, Heartland is an agricultural advisory firm located near Twelve Corners, Michigan, between Coloma and Benton Harbor. Before starting Heartland Agricultural Services, Doug held a Vice President position with Citizens Trust and Savings Bank in South Haven and was the Senior Vice President in charge of lending for Sanilac County Bank in Sandusky, Michigan. Doug and his wife, Gloria, reside in the Vineyards at Twelve Corners and enjoy spending time with family. Doug joined the WMCB Board in 2018.
Dick Patmos, Retired, Former Co-owner and President of Sunrise Acres in Jamestown
Sunrise Acres is one of the largest agricultural enterprises in the area. Prior to joining the family business, Mr. Patmos served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force from 1974 -1980. He currently serves as a board member on Hand2Hand Ministries and the Patmos Library in Jamestown. Dick has been a Board member since 2004.
Tim Hitson, Owner and President of Pinnacle Tool Incorporated in Wyoming
Tim has valuable experience in building a small business and in banking. Before owning his own business, he worked in the banking industry as a credit executive and commercial lending officer. Tim joined the Board in March 2013.
Lori J. Baker, Of Counsel of Baker Holtz, CPA’s and Advisors in Grand Rapids
In her role at Baker Holtz, Lori devotes her time to new business development and community engagement. She is a founding member of the West Michigan Chapter of inFORUM (formerly the Women’s Economic Club), a board member of St. Cecilia Music Center, and in past years has held the position of President of the Western Michigan Estate Planning Council and Kent County Parks Foundation Board. Lori joined the WMCB Board in 2017.
Tom McCurley, Owner of Gemini Group
Tom McCurley is a graduate of Michigan State University. He is an owner of Gemini Group and has been associated with the group since 1982. Tom has also served on the board of Northstar Community Bank. Tom joined the WMCB Board in 2013.
Duke Suwyn, Chairman & CEO of Colliers International (West Michigan)
Duke Suwyn has been a commercial realtor for over 20 years and has a reputation of being one of the foremost industrial specialists in the West Michigan market. Community involved, Duke is on the boards and committees of organizations such as Ada Christian Schools, Boys and Girls Clubs of Grand Rapids, Wedgewood Christian Services, Redeemer Presbyterian Church, and Van Andel Institute. Duke joined the Board in 2016.
Rob Dwortz, Owner - LEAD Strategic Advisors, Grand Rapids
Rob Dwortz has over 20 years of financial services experience, including work for banks in Chicago, Detroit and West Michigan. He founded and ran a private equity firm in Detroit prior to moving to West Michigan in 2011 to become CEO of The Bank of Holland (TBOH). He is a member of the boards of directors of Grand Rapids Label Company and Midwest United Football Club, both in Grand Rapids.
